VisionWare Ltd, a leading provider of Master Data Management (MDM) solutions, today announced that their Silver ContactPoint Adaptor has been awarded 'Type Accreditation' from development partner, Calderdale Metropolitan Borough Council, in line with the Department for Children, Schools and Families' (DCSF) Detailed Integration Specification for ContactPoint. Type Accreditation is a process put in place to allow software suppliers to demonstrate that their products meet specific ContactPoint standards.
ContactPoint is being created as a tool to improve the wellbeing of all children and young people, to help keep them safe and help to ensure that no child slips through the net. ContactPoint is a basic directory which will provide a quick way for a practitioner to find out who else has been working with the same child. This will enable practitioners across the children's workforce to work together when they need to, and provide a more co-ordinated approach to meet a child's needs.
The DCSF provides an outline of hub and adaptor model types to assist local authorities in identifying a configuration to suit their architecture when connecting their internal systems to ContactPoint.
VisionWare's Silver ContactPoint Adaptor has been developed to meet the DCSF requirements for an adaptor which receives data to be supplied to ContactPoint from a number of Case Management Systems. It establishes security credentials and submits data to ContactPoint, performing any schema translation in the process.
Paul Caladine, Senior Projects Officer of the Improving Information Sharing and Management Team at Calderdale Metropolitan Borough Council commented "We have worked with VisionWare to develop an adaptor that meets our requirements in terms of transforming and sending our data to ContactPoint, and conforms with the DCSF specifications. To have been involved from the beginning and help shape this adaptor so that it fits not only our requirements, but those of other Local Authorities, has been a great experience and we hope to have the opportunity to work with VisionWare again on other projects".
VisionWare's ContactPoint Adaptor Framework offers two solutions to organisations connecting to ContactPoint. These solutions offer incremental functionality depending on the methodology the Council wishes to adopt. These options have been designated as Silver and Platinum versions, and fit in with the DCSF descriptions for Model 4 Identity Hub and Model 6 Adaptor, seamlessly connecting and supplying data to ContactPoint in the approved file format using an accredited VisionWare ContactPoint Adaptor.
In addition, with each version of the Adaptor, VisionWare also provides a data analysis and profiling application to identify and highlight inconsistencies within the dataset, a transformation engine to transform source system data into the ContactPoint schema and VisionWare's ContactPoint Gateway to store messages sent to ContactPoint along with any responses. The solution also provides an Administration Console to schedule actions and update system settings as well as viewing and filtering discrepancy reports and stop notices. A ContactPoint Web Viewer is also included for use by appropriately authorised users to view information held on the National ContactPoint system.
Willie Clinton, Director at VisionWare, commented "We are delighted that Calderdale Council has awarded this important accreditation to our Silver ContactPoint Adaptor. This now enables us to offer Local Government organisations two fully accredited options for supplying data to ContactPoint in our Silver Adaptor and Platinum Hub and this significantly strengthens VisionWare's solutions for this market.
